The American edition of our latest top 50 ranking features a bit of the old and a bit of the new. YouTube channels that make regular appearances in our charts continue to pace the field, while a few new faces have found their way into the upper tier of the ranking. Let’s look through the data to see what sort of trends pop out.

Chart Toppers

Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes has resumed its dominance of our U.S. top 50. The purveyor of animated, educational videos, which reaches YouTube’s powerful audience of babies and toddlers, received 531.3 million weekly views during our most recent measurement period. While that was 13% less traffic than what Cocomelon pulled in the week prior, it was still enough to keep the California-based channel ahead of this week’s second-most viewed U.S.-based channel, Vlad and Niki. The Russian-American family vlog put in a strong showing to hold onto the #2 spot in our U.S. top 50, accruing 412.6 million weekly views.

Among U.S.-based channels, third place in our top 50 went to Kids Diana Show. Despite seeing a week-over-week viewership increase of 30%, Kids Diana could not do better than the same position it occupied last week. Its 405.5 million weekly views are still quite impressive.

This week, fourth place went to a rising force in our star-spangled ranking: AnthonySenpai. This YouTube channel, whose titular star also streams on Twitch and posts content on TikTok, had a huge week, picking up 308.7 million weekly views. A big factor in the channel’s growth has been its challenge videos, which resemble those made by the Klem Family.

WWE rounded out our U.S. top five once again. The theatrical sports hub added 270.5 million weekly views to its lifetime total.

Top Gainers

In January 2021, Olivia Rodrigo turned heads with her single “drivers license.” The song didn’t quite generate enough of a YouTube presence to make Rodigo a mainstay in our U.S. top 50, but its witty lyrics did turn the Temecula, California-born teenager into a household name.

Since the release of “drivers license,” Rodrigo has continued to post new videos, and she is starting to rank as one of the most-watched pop musicians on YouTube. Her debut album, titled Sour, brought nine-digit viewership to her channel after its May 21, 2021 release. The official video for the album’s hit single, “good 4 u,” already has more than 75 million views, even though it has only been available on YouTube for fewer than three weeks.

Bolstered by the success of this video as well as an assortment of other Sour-adjacent clips, Rodrigo is climbing the YouTube charts. Among U.S.-based YouTube channels, she ranked 23rd this week, pulling in 98.5 million weekly views. That represents a 12% week-over-week traffic bump, and it also brought the lifetime viewership on Rodrigo’s YouTube channel past the 500 million mark. Plus, she has her driver’s license! This girl just can’t be beat.
