Pop standouts, short-form stars, and preschool-age content providers — oh my! Those are three categories that are particularly well-represented among the 50 most-viewed U.S.-based channels of the week. A kid-friendly animation hub continues to lead all other American channels, but there were plenty of surprises within our latest U.S. Top 50.
Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes is still far ahead of its American competition. The Southern California-based studio picked up 581.2 million weekly views in our latest count, making it the only U.S.-based channel to earn at least a half-billion views over our most-recent seven-day measurement period.
Another channel that regularly features in our American ranking is Kids Diana Show. This week, the home of the titular Ukranian-born kiddie vlogger moved up one spot to earn the title of U.S. runner-up, with Diana’s 422.2 million weekly views securing her strong position.
Diana is followed by two channels that and are both appearing in the U.S. top five for the first time and both make use of the YouTube Shorts platform.
Topper Guild, which delivers jokes and pranks at a TikTok-esque pace, finished third in the U.S. this week after picking up 419.8 million weekly views. The channel trailing it in fourth place is almost like an angel to Topper Guild’s devil. Instead of using YouTube Shorts to share pranks, Austin Sprinz offers up some useful hacks and DIY projects. His channel received 302.8 million weekly views over our chart’s latest seven-day period.
Like Nastya rounded out the U.S. top five. The Russian-American family vlog added 302 million weekly views to its lifetime total, leaving it just a hair short of Sprinz.
In 2019, Billie Eilish made herself a household name with the release of her debut album, the cheekily-titled When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Now, Eilish and her ice-colored sunken eyes are back with another batch of new music, and on YouTube, her fans are turning their heads.
Eilish’s second studio album, Happier Than Ever, is due out on July 30, and music videos from the upcoming release are now appearing on Eilish’s official YouTube channel. The clip for the song “Lost Cause” may seem a bit brighter than Eilish’s previous work, but the beat is still lo-fi, her voice is still husky, and her viewership is still massive. Less than a week after arriving on YouTube, the “Lost Cause” video has more than 34 million views.
Traffic from this video makes up some (but not all) of Eilish’s YouTube traffic from the week that was.
The eccentric performer scooped up 73.7 million weekly views on her official channel; that total represented a week-over-week viewership increase of 63%, and it moved Eilish from 90th place a week ago all the way into the U.S. top 50, where she peaked at #48. We’ll see over the next month if any other singles from Happier Than Ever can push Eilish further up the charts.
