This week on the U.S. Top 50: A return to glory for a popular kids channel, a litany of YouTube Shorts channels, and some cool tree stuff. Read on to learn what I mean.

Chart Toppers

Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes has taken over the #1 spot in our U.S. Top 50. Despite being owned by London-based Moonbug, the animation channel is still based in the U.S., and it is now back to its usual pace. No other American channels could keep up with the 491 million weekly views Cocomelon received this week, so after spending a few weeks outside of #1, the California-based hub has returned its typical position.

With Cocomelon reassuming the top spot in the U.S. Top 50, the nation’s most popular family vlogs will have to settle for second and third. The first of the two vlogs in question is Kids Diana Show, which is the home of a Ukraine-born, Florida-based child star. With toy videos and other playful content, Diana and co. received 445 million weekly views over a seven-day period. Thanks to that massive total, Kids Diana Show moved up one spot in our U.S. chart.

Like Nastya has led this ranking for much of the past two months, but the Floridian family channel has been bumped back to third in our latest results. The digital home of eight-year-old Nastya and her family is still gaining massive viewership, registering 407.9 million weekly hits over our most-recent measurement period. Like Nastya is no slouch when it comes to subscribers, either. The all-ages channel entertains 96.5 million subscribers, to be precise.

Of the 26 YouTube Shorts channels to crack our U.S. Top 50 this week, only LeoNata Family made it into the top five. With challenges, skits, and moments from the titular unit’s daily life, this Family channel has become a regular at the top of our star-spangled ranking. Its latest seven-day viewership total topped out at 298.2 million weekly views.

D Billions rounds out this week’s U.S. top five. Like all the channels above it, D Billions entertains a young audience with its colorful YouTube videos. It received 280.4 million weekly views.

Top Gainers

The rise of YouTube Shorts has allowed some genre-specific channels to make their way into our weekly charts. In this week’s U.S. Top 50, we’re taking a visit to the world of gardening, where a green-thumbed channel is racking up millions of views at a time.

Some YouTube Shorts channels have misleading titles, but Gardening and Bonsai is totally straightforward. Its short-form clips appeal to gardeners everywhere, and though you’ll see many different types of plants on the channel, the ones that routinely get the most views are being treated with the titular bonsai technique. This tutorial for “bending” a tree has more than 55 million views on its own:

You may not think that YouTube’s agriculture community is huge, but the viewership received by Gardening and Bonsai begs to differ. The channel tallied 100.3 million weekly views in our latest count, which allowed it to move from 59th place in the U.S. up to 35th. Short-form video, with its hectic editing and loud sound effects, may not seem like the perfect format for a moment of zen, but this channel is watching its audience bloom all the same.

Channel Distribution

This week, there are 26 YouTube Shorts channels in the U.S. Top 50.
